Certified Retread Technician (CRT) Jan Session
Certified Retread Technician class is an overview of the entire Bandag retread process, and looks at how various phases of the retread process fit together. Certified Retread Technician Certification is held in the Bridgestone Education Center in LaVergne, TN. This workshop is designed to educate Bandag retread facility supervisors, foremen, and teammates on best practices for producing quality retread products.
PREREQUISITES
Participants should have at least six months shop experience and complete the following courses prior to attending CRT:
• CRTAP Qualification Examor In-house Craftsman
• Certified Repair
• Certified NDI®
TOPICS
This course is a performance-based program that covers all areas of the Bandag retread process. It is targeted for individuals within Bandag dealer organizations who are responsible for managing all phases of the tire retread manufacturing process within a Bandag dealer retread facility. Successful completion of the program will require participants to demonstrate hands-on skills in the following areas:
• Tire basics
• Receiving and initial inspection
• Nail hole, crown and sidewall repair
• Buffing
• NDI® tire casing analyzer scanning
• Skiving
• Cementing
• Cement-less process
• Filling skive-outs • Building
• Enveloping and curing
• Final inspection and preparation for delivery
